Corance Chandler joined the EGR team back in 2012. He had previously been a vendor for EGR, which led him to develop a relationship with Jared, EGR’s Director of Operations. When Corance was looking for a career change, Jared reached out and brought him onto the team. Corance is in charge of shipping and has been a vital team member throughout the years. He keeps people on the ball with his punctuality and on their toes with his wicked sense of humor.

Describe your day to day role as Shipping Lead:

To funnel millwork from each department to make job site deliveries in a timely manner.

What has been your favorite project to date and why?

Choctaw Nation Headquarters or the Oklahoma State Capitol. Both jobs have elaborate woodworking – columns, beams, wainscot. It exemplifies what architectural woodworking should be.

What is your biggest challenge on any given job?

Communication. There are so many variables, departments, customers, coworkers, and growth. Keeping information fluid seems to be my hardest task.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I try to spend my time away from EGR divided between my family, running a small door business and Church events.

What’s the most gratifying part of the job?

I love seeing the finished job. When you’re placing thousands of pieces onto a truck, they don’t make sense. Once those thousands of pieces are put together, you see the beauty of the end product. The small details make the big picture beautiful.

Favorite style of design:

European Classic Style – it never ages and always looks sleek and elegant.

Favorite restaurant in OKC:

What’s your party trick?

I don’t really have a party trick. I usually just find a corner and watch the festivities.
