Lonnell Smith joined EGR in the Fall of 2020 as a delivery truck driver. He ensures that each and every one of our products are delivered to the jobsite in a safe and timely manner. Lonnell is a friendly face and a helping hand. You can always find him asking you about your day or offering to assist in any way he can.
How’d you get your start? What did you do before?
Worked at CIRCOR Energy for 13 years on the assembly team as well as a welder. After the company sold to Mexico, I went to American Truck Training for a class A license.
Describe your typical day at work:
At times, it’s smooth and at other times, there is a major sense of urgency. It really just depends on the day.
What has been your favorite project to date? Why?
I like taking trips to Texas and ensuring that the customers are happy. I enjoy making sure deliveries are on time.
What is your biggest challenge on any given job?
Unloading large dye-walls
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Running a music business and making sure artists are all working to create new music. I also enjoy going to Riverwind Casino from time to time.
What’s the most gratifying part of the job?
The leadership from Derek and Jesse motivates me daily. Learning from them helps make me better at my job.
